The annual Starfish Charity Gala is an outreach to benefit our area's most vulnerable children and families. Hosted by Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida, the Gala will be a spiritually uplifting evening featuring a three course seated dinner, musical accompaniment, and a very special guest speaker.
Guest speaker, Capuchin Monk, Father Benedict Groeschel, has lived a life devoted to Christ. A prolific best selling author, he is also an internationally recognized inspirational Christian TV and radio personality and deeply spiritual Christian teacher and leader. Well known for his tireless work with inner city poor, Father Benedict's life long efforts on behalf of society's most vulnerable parallel the work of Mother Teresa.
Father Benedict is the author of over thirty books and has recorded more than one hundred audio and video series. He publishes articles in several Catholic magazines on a monthly basis and posts a weekly meditation on the Oratory of Divine Love web site. His weekly television program,Sunday Night Live with Father Benedict Groeschel, broadcasts on the Eternal World Television Network.
The Starfish Charity Gala is a semi-formal event celebrating the work of Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida. The mission of Catholic Charities is to serve, to empower, and to advocate for vulnerable families and individuals of any race, religion, or national origin.
Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida, located in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, provides licensed Christian counseling, fully accredited adoption services, the areas largest food bank, veteran services including licensed counseling for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, emergency assistance with utilities, rent, temporary lodging and transportation, a community-based medical, dental and prescription drug program, and much more to those in need in Okaloosa and Walton counties, 80% of whom are non-Catholics.
All guests must present a picture id to gain entrance into the venue!
